Nach dem Alaska-Highway, dem Dalton und dem Cassier, dem Highway 101, der Route 66, der Panamericana, dem Chaco Austral und der Küstestraße von Brasilien nach Uruguay erreichte ich die ultimative, wilde und legendäre

RUTA 40!

I rode the Alaska-Highway, the Dalton and Cassier-Highway. The 101, Route 66, the panam, chaco austral and the coastroad of brazil and uruguay. And now I reached the ultimative, wild and legendary Ruta 40!

Und ich kann wirklich parallelen zu Kanada feststellen. Schönes Ding.

And it compares a bit like canada. Beautiful Thing

Allerdings ist es wirklich stürmig, wie Ihr Ruf.

Das schöne ist, es gibt kaum Verkehr, so kann ich entspannt mein Tempo fahren.

Es ist zwar frisch, aber die Sonne ist extrem stark. Pausen also nur im Schatten.

Motorradfahrer mit den verrücktesten Umbauten. Er kommt aus oregon, sie aus Deutschland. Nette Leute.

Sie lief die Tage wie eine eins!

She was running perfectly. Hard working sormfighter.

Reihenhäuser in Esquel. Die Orte in den dünn besiedelten Gebieten ähneln sich auch alle.

Gute Straßen, die Landschaft auf dauer unspannend.

Denn das ist die einzige Tankstelle seit 240km und auf für die kommenden 200km.

The first gasstation for arround 200miles and for the next 160miles aswell.

Überall trifft man Motorradfahrer, was gut ist für informationen über die aktuelle Streckenqualität... allerdings gehen die Meinungen der Motorradfahrer weit auseinander...

There are a coupe of bikers arround what is good to catch some informations about the road conditions, weatherforcast and stuff like that. But sometimes the informations are a kind of wrong...

Ripio auf spanisch. Kieß auf deutsch, eigentlich ist das machbar für mich bei sturmartigem Seitenwind allerdings echt nicht einfach zu befahren.

Ripio in spanish, gravel in english, normaly it is possible for me to ride on this surface. But with stormy sidewind it is a way more difficult to manage.

Zwei Fahrradreisende traf ich. Lustige Typen.

I met two biciclists from argentina. Funny guys.

Wer lange unterwegs ist, hat auch hunger. Wir grillten zusammen und hatten eine spontane Grillparty ;-)

Crazy mirages

Eine Palme warnt vor Seitenwind. Weil es hier in der Pampa nur Bodengewächse gibt, ist das Sturmfahren so krass, weil man eben nicht von den Palmen gewarnt wird.

there are no tree to advice me.

Die Pampa ist teilweise so langweilig, da will man noch nicht mal tot über dem Zaun hängen....sorry.

The pampa is so boring you don´t like to hang dead over a fence....sorry for that

Die letzten 70km Schotter musste ich bewältigen, war auch echt unangenehm im Sturm...

The last 50miles without peavement I need to manage and it was difficult to ride about this bloody storm.

Weil die Autos alles weggestaubt haben, blieben stellenweise nur noch fies herausstehende Steile übrig...

Because of the cars who were blowing the dust away, there was partly just stones sticking out of the dirt.

Hochtourig wegen dem Boden und langsam sowieso wegen dem Gegenwind, ließen den Verbrauch fast um 30% ansteigen.

High rpm because of the dirt and slow anyways because of the storm. My bike was drinking almost 30% more gas.

Nach 250km erreichte ich eine Tankstelle, die kein Benzin mehr hatte....

...nochmal 130km, ich muss es versuchen, hab ja sonst keine Wahl.

170miles without anything, when I reached the gasstation they were "out of gas"... next in 80miles...

...okay I give a try have no other chance...

Meine Retter! Denn 17km vor Chalten ging mir der Sprit aus.

In El Chalten machte ich erstmal eine Pause, der erste Ruhetag seit dem Aufbruch in Buenos Aires. 10 Tage a 12h...das schlaucht.

El Chalten liegt am Fuße der Anden. Die Bewohner bekamen früher Geld um hier zu wohnen, denn Chilenen wollten sich das Gebiet unter den Nagel reißen...

is close to the andes and the borderline of chile. The habitants got payed to live here, because chile want to take this property..

Hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt da hin zu fahren, denn eigentlich kam ich da nur hin, weil die Tankstelle die nächste war...

Hat schon mal jemand von Euch gegen den Wind gepisst? Kennt Ihr das Gefühl wenn man einfach selber Schuld ist?

In geistiger Umnachtung schüttete ich den Reservekanister in den Tank, allerdings ohne Öl...

Der Kolben klemmte nicht, er fraß sich fest. Konnte Ihn in der Pampa lösen und langsam zum Campingplatz fahren. Anstatt erholen hieß es nun, Kolben und Kolbenringe tauschen...

Es ist erst vorbei, wenn ich in Köln bin. Von jubelnder Zieleinfahrt nicht viel zu spüren...

I was a kind of tired und not concentrated and poured the seperatgas in the tank, but without oil...

The piston was not glueing this guy was f****** one part with the cylinder. I could losen them with lots of oil and rode slow to the campground. Not relaxing, I need to change the piston and the rings...

This trip is not over yet, It is done when I reach germany and cologne.

Schwein gehabt, das Pleul ist ganz geblieben, den Zylinder hab ich mit dem Schleifpapier "gehont", Ringe gewechselt und weiter...

I had luck, the cranckshaft looks okay, the cilinder I sanded out by hand. The piston and the rings I changed...

Krasse Begegnung. Louis aus Kolumbien ist ein echter Fan von mir. Er verfolgt mich online, seit ich in Alaska bin und ging voll ab, denn auch er reist auf dieser 250ccm "chinamopete" umher.

"Wir sind die Helden, weil wir mit Kleinen und gebrauchten Karren das machen was sonst nur reiche auf Ihren BMWs machen" sagt Louis

I met Louis, he is a real fan of me and my trip. He is following me online since I reaches Alaska. He is travelling on a small bike alswell. 250cc, started from colombia. He said:

"We are heros because we do a big journey without big money and a big bike"

Schon am Morgen Windstärke um die fünf. Voll beladen und frische Kolbenringe. Da war mein Tagesziel "Esperanza" genau richtig, denn das heißt Hoffnung!

In the morning strong wind, my bike is loaded and I have new pistonrings. This village Esperanza is the right place for me, because esperanza means "hope"

Sie reisen mit nem Auto, geile story sie trafen sich zufällig beim trampen zwei mal an verschiedenen Stellen auf dieser Welt. Diemal verabredeten sie sich und reisen unun zusammen umher.

These guys met eachother twice hitchhiking in different spots in the world. Now they had a date and

now they travel together again.

Er kam aus Paraguay in 5 Tagen hier runter...

He reached from Paraguay in 5 days this place...

Der Kolben macht keine Probleme, aber mein Vorderrad. Das Schwingenlager ist hinüber, die gesamte Radkomposition vorne schlägt bis zu 5mm. Unfahrbar. Da es ein Speziallager ist, was ich nicht dabei habe und auch keine Hydraulikpresse vorhanden ist um das Ding vernünftig zu tauschen, fuhr ich "mal eben" zurück nach Buenos Aires, wo das Ding zum Glück auf lager liegt.

Rio Gallergos - Buenos Aires 42h. Eine Nacht, ein Tag, noch ne Nacht und noch paar Stunden...ein Weg.

The piston was running good, but my frontwheel. The bearring of the wing was broken. The tire was shaking almost 5mm it was a nogo. It is a special bearring what I wasnt carrying and you need a hydraulic-press to bring the new part smooth in place. I took a bus and had a looong ride to Buenos Aires were was the part, to buy and change it.

Rio Galleros - Buenos Aires 42h.

One night, one day and another night plus a couple of hour...one way.
